Wow! What a day we had today. God is so good! We know He is watching over us. Some of today's highlights were spending time at the spring where Gideon chose 300 men. You know I think God was trying to teach, not only Gideon, but everyone of us a valuable lesson here. He could have used the entire 32,000 and won the victory or sent Gideon with 300 to start with. But there’s something here in regard to man's idea of being equipped enough for the battle and God’s idea. Sometimes God has to “eliminate” all the possibilities of man taking credit. He made it clear that He did not want Israel to take credit. Judges 7:2 - And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me. And in Judges 7:7 - And the LORD said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you...And He did save them, to God be the glory! What did the song writer say? “Oh our Lord will fight your battles if you let Him!" Praise His Name!
Then we travelled to Beit She’an. There is rich history in this place where no doubt Jesus walked, and we probably walked the very same streets. Wow! But I never want to live in the past. My prayer for this trip has been for all of us to walk with Him even now!
Camel rides for the adventurous and first timers! Now that was funny! Whew! Glad no one got spit on!
Then we went to the Dead Sea, where we found a lovely room awaiting at the David Dead Sea Resort. This is located on the south part of the Sea. Floating in the Dead Sea was quite an experience for many in our group. The weather was perfect and, with the 30% salt/mineral content, I don’t think a person could sink. We were blessed to find a private location for our crew.
Enjoying the Dead Sea
Enjoy the pictures! Our bus loads at 7:00am in the morning. Tomorrow will be a jam-packed day. Blessings, Pastor Spangler
You know... I think I’ll have some dessert tonight. I wouldn’t want to offend the cook.
